2013 - 18 - Fair and Expo Manager, Sluice__

Sluice__ is a multifaceted organisation with a biennial art fair for international artist-led projects in London; a biennial expo in Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY; a programme of art exhibitions and events throughout the year and a twice yearly magazine. Since 2013 I have managed the art fairs, curated their exhibitions, secured partners and was responsible for creating links, finding opportunities and managing relationships for Sluice__.

At Sluice__, the artist led project promoting international artist led culture, I have realised several projects, namely the management of two art fairs in London during Frieze week in 2013 and 2015 and two Expo projects, in 2014 and 2016, in Bushwick, New York consisting of over 50 internationally galleries and groups partnering with local galleries and spaces. Via the expo’s Sluice__ has ‘taken over’ Bushwick and animated various public and private spaces through exhibitions, talks, public interventions, performances and events.  My main role at Sluice__ was project management, fundraising, staff management, and finding opportunities for Sluice__ to be seen beyond the fair and expo. I have been responsible for curating projects at The Hospital Club, Hackney Central Arches and LUX Scotland featuring artists such as Patrick Hough, Yu Araki, Chinmoyi Patel, Patrick Segura and Wood and Harrison. As well as exhibitions featuring Vishwa Shroff, Charlotte Morgan, Yifat Gat, John Ros, Maurice Carlin, Matthew Andrew and Caitlin Griffiths.
